Pianist Jason Moran is one of the most prolific musicians on the scene today. Jason’s recordings, on the Blue Note label, provide a refreshing and dynamic window into new creative musical environments. His music is exciting and profoundly innovative. His latest album, Artist In Residence, is simply brilliant and a must listen.
On the first of two Traneumentary episodes, Jason walks us through the track “Monk’s Mood” taken from the historic 1958 Carnegie Hall recording and explains the musical magic between Trane and Monk.
